Logo Design; its_sii

I was asked to create a logo for a clients Twitch and Discord that had elements that he requested. Since the name he used “Sii” is very similar to the word “Sea”, he wanted to incorporate the sea into the logo.

In my sketching process, I first wanted to try to incorporate a Japanese style wave look to it. I used the waves to create an S shape, referring to the first letter of “Sii”. For the second sketch, I wanted to incorporate a wave again but this time surrounding the S to give it more of a simple look. Lastly, I decided to make an extremely simple design including the “ii” just in case he was looking for something more simple in general.

After finishing up the sketches, he agreed on seeing drafts of the first two and we ended up deciding on the first design as he really liked the idea of the Japanese style waves.

For the final draft I gave options from black & white to full colour dependent on if he wanted to use it for anything else other than social media.
